We all have struggled to believe in God’s plan for our lives at one time or another. Those who have lost their way and their faith come to Star of Hope Mission to find their purpose. The story shared by Keisha, a Star of Hope alumna, is a testament to the Lord’s work in our lives if we just believe.
A former resident of Star of Hope, Keisha found herself back at the Women and Family Development Center 18 years later after making the difficult decision to close her salon due to the Covid-19 pandemic and a failing marriage. When looking for a place to go, she remembered how Star of Hope had guided her all those years ago, and so she once again came to us for help along with her 2-year-old daughter.
“I began to believe! It was the Bible studies and my close relationship with God that allowed me to stand tall through every test I was faced with,” Keisha shared in her testimony.
Keisha was grateful to have the support of the Lord throughout her time at Star of Hope. She and her daughter are now in affordable housing as part of our New Heights program, and through the grace of God, Keisha is back at her salon and attending school to complete her college degree!
