It’s no surprise that the world sees “abundant life” as having plenty of money, a high paying job, a nice home and remarkable achievements. But if that’s all there is to abundance — just material resources — our neighbors at Star of Hope have no chance of overcoming poverty.
As followers of Christ, we know abundant life is found in repairing relationships with God, creation and our neighbor. In those relationships we find abundance — no matter if we’re in poverty or plenty, great risk or security.
By standing with Star of Hope, you’re showing men, women and families this true “abundant life.” You see the dignity of people — dignity granted by God — and care to restore it. You bring people in from the margins . . . people that society overlooks. Thank you.
Star of Hope is just one small piece of the reconciling work God is doing in Houston. And what a joy to participate in His plan for redemption alongside you.
Jeremiah 29:7 (NIV) says to “seek the peace and prosperity of the city . . . because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” This is the longing of my heart for the next year of ministry. As you look over this ministry report, I invite you to pray for God’s will to be done in Houston as it is in Heaven — and to anticipate Him accomplishing even more great things in our city.
