Children at Star of Hope Mission are back at school! These first days of school represent new beginnings, and it is an exciting time for them. When homeless children enter the new school year, they have little to no school supplies and uniforms. Not only is it hard on them, but our parents struggle to take their children back-to-school shopping. Thankfully, we have the support of our donors!

Days leading up to the first day of school, Trees of Hope Board hosted an exciting Back-to-School event where our children received brand new shoes! They individually tried on shoes from Academy Sports and Outdoors that were funded by Trees of Hope Board and donors. After selecting their shoes, the children enjoyed food and refreshments provided by Raising Cane’s. Our staff also put together a wonderful Back-to-School Bash for Star of Hope children, where they received backpacks filled with school supplies and uniforms, donated by Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church, Hilcorp, Third Coast Bank, and Second Baptist School! This was an awesome day as the children took part in relay races, enjoyed snow cones, and received their school gear! What a great start to the new school year!

Thanks to your support – both financially and in prayer – many of them are experiencing stability for the first time in their lives at Star of Hope. We are looking forward to wonderful things to come for our children and parents. You help provide these children with an environment that gives them an opportunity to succeed! Thank you!
