Every year, Star of Hope’s Youth Ministry holds a graduation celebration for the teens who have finished high school, and are entering a new stage in life. Unfortunately, this year’s celebration had to be canceled due to COVID-19. That did not stop our wonderful Youth Ministry staff from finding a way to show our graduates they are appreciated and celebrating their huge accomplishment.
This year, we had the pleasure of recognizing six of our teens who graduated from high school, and they all have plans to attend college! Among the six graduates is a very talented young man by the name of Trovell. Throughout high school, Trovell participated in all things athletic, and he held positions on the basketball, baseball, football, and track teams. With such a bright future ahead of him, Trovell plans to attend Blinn College School of Welding!
In an effort to adjust to our new normal and practice social distancing, the Youth Ministry staff scheduled time frames for each teen to take an individual graduation photo and receive an amazing care package! Each graduate received a basket filled with living essentials, a backpack filled with school supplies, and notes of encouragement! The teens were also left with this scripture, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” -Ephesians 2:10 What an awesome verse!
I pray that the graduates of the class of 2020 hold steadfast to His word as they begin this new chapter in their lives. This is an exciting moment for our teens, and during these trying times we are striving to help them make a smooth transition.
The teens are so thankful for your prayers, donations, and support. You give them hope for a better future! They are now able to further their education and have a head start on the upcoming school year. I ask that you continue to pray for our teens, to stay focused and encouraged, as they venture off into their next successes. Thank you and congratulations to the graduating class of 2020!

Congratulations to the Class of 2020!!!!! I wish all of them well in their academic endeavors. These babies have experienced so much hardship in their young lives, but God is in control!!! I will be in constant prayer for all of them. God bless them all.
CONGRATULATIONS to Trovell as well as the other Graduates. I feel so bad that this pandemic took so much from our Seniors in celebration of all they worked for. But what it didn’t take was WHAT they worked for and what they can still accomplish. However, I am reminded of what my great-grandmother used to quote to me when I would come to her with a problem that didn’t seem fair, Romans 8:28:
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his
purpose.”
My VERY BEST, COUNTLESS BLESSINGS and FAVOR on their lives as they continue to rise above their circumstances and be the men and women God calls them to be.
